A la Mireya — Brand Identity Design
A la Mireya is a home-based food brand created by a client who wanted to honor her mother’s memory through the dishes she grew up with. Every recipe on the menu comes from her late mother, Mireya, whose cooking carried warmth, tradition, and a deep sense of family. Naming the brand A la Mireya plays on the idea of “a la carte”, while keeping her mother’s presence at the heart of the project.
This brand needed to feel emotional, authentic, and rooted in Mexican home cooking, a tribute told through design.

Challenge
The main challenge was to translate a personal story of legacy and love into a visual identity that felt respectful, heartfelt, and culturally grounded. The client wanted her mother to be present symbolically, without the brand feeling overly nostalgic or outdated.
To better understand the emotional tone she envisioned, I drew inspiration from the film “Nonna” on Netflix, a story that mirrors the idea of recipes passed down through generations. That reference helped establish the balance between sentiment and storytelling, while keeping the identity visually refined.Client Feedback
Result
I created a custom illustration based on a real photo of Mireya, allowing her presence to become the core of the brand. The illustration is warm, expressive, and crafted to feel both personal and iconic, a symbol of the love behind every dish.
The visual identity draws from the colors of traditional Mexican cuisine: deep red chile tones, earthy frijol hues, and warm maize yellows. These colors ground the brand in authenticity while creating an aesthetic that is modern, cohesive, and emotionally resonant.
The final identity is both traditional and elegant, a brand that tells a story, honors a mother’s legacy, and captures the comfort of homemade food shared with love.
